Lead Piosoning
About Lead Poisoning:
Long-term exposure to lead, a naturally occurring metal used in everything from construction materials to batteries, can cause serious health problems. affect of lead can lead to a wide range of symptoms, from headaches and stomach pain to behavioral problems and anemia (not enough healthy red blood cells). Lead can also affect a child's developing brain.
Two places in the electrical field where we could be affected by lead? the two places where electricians can be affected by lead poisoning is, when we are drilling into walls or roofs where creates dust that contains lead which we can inhale and when working around painters sanding the walls
Two ways of minimising the risk of getting Lead poisoning?Wear a mask, this eliminate risk of you inhaling dust which contains lead.
Wash hands after using any substance that might contain lead
Occupational Dermatitis..
How to protect your self against Occupational Dermatitis?
if you are working with hazardous substances at work, your employer should already be aware of the harm any substances you are working with can cause you. As the first priority, your employer should evaluate whether an alternative substance could be used instead which is safer.
if you are working with hazardous substances at work, your employer should already be aware of the harm any substances you are working with can cause you. As the first priority, your employer should evaluate whether an alternative substance could be used instead which is safer.
If this is not a possibility, your employer should then arrange for you to have the minimal amount of contact with the substance by using splash guards or extractors for example.
As a final resort, your employer should provide you with protective clothing to wear such as gloves or overalls which prevent the substance from coming into contact with your skin. Providing this protective clothing is made available to you, it is your responsibility as an employee to wear the clothing at all times and protect yourself.

Pythagorus
There is a mast that is 70 m high. A wire goes to the top of the mast at an angle of 68°. How long is the wire? |
- Step 1 The two sides we are using are Opposite (70) and Hypotenuse (x).
- Step 2 SOHCAHTOA tells us we must use Sine.
- Step 3 Write down the fraction for sin 68° = 70/w
- Step 4 Solve:
So we need to follow a slightly different approach when solving :
Start with: | sin 68° = 70/w
Multiply both sides by w: | w × (sin 68°) = 70
Divide both sides by "sin 68°": | w = 70 / (sin 68°)
Calculate: | w = 70 / 0.9271... = 75.5 m (to 1 place)
The length of the wire = 75.5 m
